lol..just kidding. I don't fall into that category.
So last night, the wife and I are at Definitive Audio picking up another pair of B&W 685's and we just spent some time perusing the shop. Lots of nice stuff in there.
Several lines of mega buck speakers, some beautiful and of conventional cabinet design, some butt ugly monstrocities that have a WAF of -10.
What struck me was the fact that all the working display's had wonderfully expensive AudioQuest speaker cables run to them.
One set of very large Magnaplane's had what could best be described as a mid sized family car's cost worth of speaker cables plugged into them. They had to be 8 gauge pairs at least.
Very pretty to be sure, but seriously?
Anyways, it sure was audio nervanna in there.
I really liked the little Linn Akurate Network Music Player connected to a pair of Vienna Hayden Grand Piano bookshelf speakers. They were playing "Kabuki" on it. Wonderfull sound emanating from those speakers.
anyways..just thought I'd share the fact that the sales guy that helped us was very nice, wasn't pushy and despite being an audiophile, knows that its not everyone's cup of tea and he didn't look down his nose at us when I said I'm all set for in wall speaker cable
