Hey all. I was about to recommend a $400 AVR (close to their budget) to a friend of mine, the denon s650h, when I realized after looking at the specs, that it doesn't support atmos/dtx, which is something she wants. Can you all recommend an entry level AVR, somewhere NEAR this price range that does? Much appreciated.

Yeah the feature and connectivity options often open up a bit as you go thru the price-point ladder (and wouldn't be surprised in some cases its just a firmware thing to limit functionality at lower price points in some cases). Discounts nor stock are as available now as before Covid in a few cases, too....but you can also look at refurbs at accessories4less.com if you don't mind the terms and slight risk involved for the savings. There's that new Yamaha that has a retail of $600 and a different model number vs the same with a different model number for $200 less at Costco....
