I am designing a set of satellite speakers to fit inside an armoire. The armoire has doors that swing open and the speakers sit on a shelf inside the armoire with about 1/2" space around the speaker.
I've already built a pair of bookshelves using these drivers with no crossover:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=264-844 (Tang Band 3" bamboo) and I plan on using the existing bookshelf speaker cabinet or building all 5 cabinets from scratch.
My question is this, Given that the front three speakers will be in an armoire and virtually have a front baffle several feet wide will I benefit from adding a BSC crossover to the drivers???
