Hadn't heard of this movie until I read about it on Hi-Def Digest. Pretty decent cop/gangsta flick. Antoine Fuqua is a decent little director. You basically have 3 different cop stories that kind of intersect at the end.
Richard Gere is an old veteran cop that has never done anything exemplary and never gets involved. He's retiring in a week, so he doesn't give a crap about trying to make a difference.
Ethan Hawke is a vice cop that is trying to make a better life for his family by robbing drug dealers. He is of course conflicted, but consoles himself by rationalizing that he is doing bad things to bad people.
Don Cheadle is an undecover cop that has been in the game so long that the lines have become blurred and he feels more like a gangsta than a cop. His superiors want him to roll over on his friend Wesley Snipes that has just gotten out of prison and who saved Cheadle's life in the past.
I liked it. Definitely worth a rental.
