On 9/11 I posted a thread asking if I needed an amp to power the Paradigm studio 100 speakers because they didn't sound like they should being powered by a Yamaha rx-v1800. Anyway went in the sound menu found the adaptive DRC was set to auto;I reset to off what a difference! No amp needed.

Nothing like a free audio enhancement!
Of course, it sounds like you've been missing out on a lot of SQ!

Like my dad always told me; "When you're dumb, ya gotta be tough".;)

I own that receiver as well and I find its amplifier section to quite stout. It should have no problem driving your Paradigms. This receiver and others liek are not trivial plug and play units. They have a ton of features and settings and it can be easily over looked. The fact that you took your time and experimented with its settings is a good learning event for you. Feel stupid if it happens again and you cant solve it a 2nd time. ;)
