Bought a new lcd tv

I couldn't take the lifeless, washed out, blurry picture on my 37" Vizio vx37l lcd tv anymore. So after a few weeks of looking at tv's and researching, I returned it to Costco today and bought the Vizio GV42L. What a difference. The blacks are much darker and the PQ is dramatically improved. I haven't had time to tweak the controls yet. I brought it home, plugged it in, watched a few minutes of dvd,tv, ps2, then went to school.

I just got out of class and have to go to work in a few minutes. So tomorrow I'll play with the settings more and see how much better I can get the picture.

I was a little hesitant about another Vizio, after two bad tv's already. But the reviews for the 42" were all very positive. I actually saw the old version of the 37" tv as part of a karaoke display at Costco and the picture was very nice. Nothing like the extremely poor picture of the newer 37" model. Anyway, the price was good, it just dropped to $1299. Costco has some sort of price match where if it drops more in the next month or so, they'll refund the difference.

Anyway, so far I have no complaints. The picture is a dramatic improvement for me. I'll post more after I've played with it for a few days.

Congrats on the upgrade. That's a nice size, and a great price. Plus, how nice is it that you can return your current set for another without any questions asked. I'm still giddy about watching sports on weekends on my new LCD with my blinds open. You can't do that with a CRT or plasma. ;)
