I couldn't take the lifeless, washed out, blurry picture on my 37" Vizio vx37l lcd tv anymore. So after a few weeks of looking at tv's and researching, I returned it to Costco today and bought
the Vizio GV42L. What a difference. The blacks are much darker and the PQ is dramatically improved. I haven't had time to tweak the controls yet. I brought it home, plugged it in, watched a few minutes of dvd,tv, ps2, then went to school.
I just got out of class and have to go to work in a few minutes. So tomorrow I'll play with the settings more and see how much better I can get the picture.
I was a little hesitant about another Vizio, after two bad tv's already. But the reviews for the 42" were all very positive. I actually saw the old version of the 37" tv as part of a karaoke display at Costco and the picture was very nice. Nothing like the extremely poor picture of the newer 37" model. Anyway, the price was good, it just dropped to $1299. Costco has some sort of price match where if it drops more in the next month or so, they'll refund the difference.
Anyway, so far I have no complaints. The picture is a dramatic improvement for me. I'll post more after I've played with it for a few days.
