I do not have a lot of knowledge of new receiver technologies and plan to replace my old Pioneer receiver with either a Yamaha RXV 550 or a Denon AVR 2105 receiver. I have a pair of 10 yr old Boston Accoustic T830 speakers and I mostly listen to music on CD's and will also use it for the occasional movie (DVD). Sound quality is far more important to me than additional functionality. I plan in the next year or so to purchase speakers for surround sound of similiar quality to the T830's. The room with the stereo is 12 ft x 15 ft.
Is the Yamaha RXV 550 enough receiver for my current speakers and future plans, or should I go with the Denon AVR 2105? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
