I bought a used Classe CA-100 a few years ago. It did not come in the original box. There is something going on with it. Sometimes I'll get fantastic sound, other times there is a low noise floor, and occasionally it goes into protection mode when idling (never while playing). My guess is a cold solder or a leaking capacitor.
I would ship back to Classe but they require a factory box, and they want over $250 for one!!! I would love to bring it to a local hifi shop that services amps but I don't want to be it to a sketchy place and have them ruin this awesome amp.
So any in the Boston area have a good recommendation?
