Picked up a pair of Boston Acoustics A 40 {f} today at a thrift store. They were in very good condition, so I bought them for $14.99. Not sure what I'll do with them, but I couldn't just leave them. Not sure of the year, seems they made them for some time. They do have a 'F' {A40f} on the back, anyone know or have an opinion for these guys?

This is what I found, plus a pretty favorable mention in a column.

Older BA speakers were decent speakers. I think better than their new ones. What you have to watch out for is the foam surrounds rotting. I'm pretty sure that you can still get the parts to replace the foam for cheap on ebay. I haven't done it myself but I understand it's a bit of a project.

I have a pair of the A-150, and I bought them in 1985. The A-40 were built around the same time.
