Bose, being Bose, is charging $5,400 for a 46" LCD with a proprietary, built-in sound system.

yep, people will buy it. bose has just such a following.

my father-in-law. he is a DIE HARD bose freak. i told him bose sucked, in not so many words.
and he said "NOoooo" and gave me a look like i told him his wife had been raped.

I can just imagine going into the service menu, only to find that the gamma is stuck at 1.2 and all the blacks clip as no matter what you do.

The real question is which company is producing these TVs for Bose? They're gonna be rebranded somethings.

the guts will be rebranded, and doubtfully of good quality. as bose fans don't know much about quality. so bose doesn't need to spend the money for that.

the housing. idk if bose makes any of their own stuff. but if they do, the housing shouldn't be an issue. its just a differently shaped wave radio.
