It is unnecessarily emotive and venomous, but the hard facts are real regarding the frequency response. And the same principles of physics apply to the AM 16 cubes as to the AM 15 at the above link; tiny speakers cannot reproduce frequencies low enough to blend well with a proper subwoofer crossover frequency. You can easily get better sound for less money.
With modern speakers, whenever a speaker manufacturer fails to list a frequency response with a specified tolerance, they invariably have some very unpleasant facts that they are trying to hide. Of course, giving such specifications is no guarantee of good quality, but you can be sure that a failure to list it is a sign of something bad.
