I've heard plenty of pros and cons about these speakers.I have been given a set of speakers series VI but need the active eq. is missing.Question is do I need the series VI eq. or will the series III,IV or V work.

You may want to check w/Bose support on this, but I would assume that the EQ should work, regardless of the series number. If you have the option to try one out, give it a shot. If not and you're looking to buy the EQ and make sure it's compatible, shoot Bose support an e-mail b/f putting any money down on anything... -TD

You must definately use a BOSE eq with this system. It is the only way to achieve any level or linearity from them. Even if its the wrong series EQ, it will still likely be a better match than NO EQ or an external EQ from another company.

Call Bose and order the correct eq. I have had 3 diffferent series, each has a tweaked eq for that series. Setup correctly they will produce very good sound. These speakers are better than anything else in their line, but they must be setup correctly, and driven with enough power to do them justice.

If your going to buy the eq ebay is the ticket.
