Bose 601 Series II speakers

No, Bose are not good speakers. I think the 601's have clouded highs ie. muffled and boomy base. They use cheap paper drivers.

i found a pair for like $10 lol
on ebay they go for over a hundred

maybe ill get a pair and see that they're like

Well you can't loose for $10, if you don't like them just sell them to some punk for $100 cash and add that cash to your $500 budget and make that a $600 budget and get the HSU Ventriloquist system with an HSU STF-2 subwoofer. You will thank yourself, I promise.

For what it's worth the 601 Series I was probably the best speaker that Bose ever made. Were they great by today's standards? No, but probably better than most of the mass market speakers in their price range and a bit above in their day. Anyway Bose quicky corrected their error with the somewhat under performing series II, the much lower quality series III and the horrible joke of a speaker series IV. Any series I or II's still out there will need to be refoamed if they haven't been already.

interesting.... im surprised how people are still buying the $3k bose systems. I read a HUGE HUGE article about bose speakers and how crappy they are. But hey if I get to buy this pair for under $20, I can make some profit out of it, considering that they sell on ebay for over $100.

Even under $20 they probably will make a good set for a garage.
