Hello,
I am looking for some good home theater books. Something that covers the basics, on up to the heavy and complicatied topics. I would consider myself fairly middle of the road as far as my knowledge, but would like to learn all I can. I have many home theater magazine subscriptions, but they cover broader topics. I want something that covers the details and the specifics about various topics. Everyhing from how stuff works, too room acoustics, too actual interior design of a theater, even some whole house wiring. Maybe I would not find this in a single book, but maybe I would in a couple different ones. If anybody has any suggestions let me know. Am I out of luck, or is there something to suit my needs?

Thanks in advance,

-Chris

Loudspeaker Design Cookbook 7th edition. Very technical when it comes to x-over and design, but has enough basic stuff that it won't be like reading a book in a language you don't know :) I've picked up some books thinking I was going to get some good info out of them, and ended up finding that I would need a PHD just to understand what they were talking about in many cases. This one isn't like that.

Very helpful. If I had something like this wrapped up in a book, I would be set for a long time. For now this is good. But keep the books titles a coming, I will probably pick up the one above, thanks for the recomendation!!!

You might want to take a look at some of the books available through AudioXpress. http://www.audioxpress.com/

In particular, the ones at http://www.audioxpress.com/bksprods/bkindexgenhome.htm should be right up your alley. :)

From the link in the above post, I would caution you about the book by Robert Harley. Full of audio voodoo, myth and bs, hard to know when his info is factual. Tomlinson Holman would be a good source but not sure what would be in his book.
