Hi All,

Please suggest me to select two bookshelve speakers for my denon AVR 1312, i think floor stander is not suitable for me ,i have a small room, my purpose is mainly to watch movies, tv. I have seen from searching this forum polk tsi 200 or polk rti A1 as good option..presently i have no plan to upgrade with sub or surround.

Expecting your advice

Thanks to all

Regards,
Saifu

I'd generally recommend a tower if you won't be running a sub because you'll get much better bass response. If you can fit them, the Pioneer SP-FS51 floorstanders are $199 a pair at Newegg right now. They're not large or imposing but should reach pretty low and sound very good.

Otherwise consider a pair of Infinity P163s from Amazon or the Audioholics store for $170.

If Polk, I'd definitely go with the RTiAs over the TSIs, but what exactly is the budget?

Both of the speakers he listed are a little under $300 a pair, for what it's worth.

I definitely agree with the A1 over the TSi if you insist on Polk, but I'd go another direction entirely.

Hard to make recommendation without budget, but I'd as a rule of thumb stay away from Polk products - I wasn't impressed by RTi or TSi... LSi/9 were pretty good, but cost WAY too much

Hmm... You need very efficient speakers with extended low-end...hmm

Primus P163 are decent choice, but I would highly recommend these:
CMT-340 SE Mini-Tower Loudspeaker

Also Klipsch RB-61 II might be good choice too, for even lower extension and higher efficiency, that is you like Klipsch sound - it's love or hate thing

Klipsch Icon VB-15 and Klipsch VC-25 Center Speaker. Check Ebay they have a couple pairs there. I really like these speakers and they seemed to open up more and sound even better. I'm so surprised by these little speakers.:D They are not the best out there, but If you are on a budget you can't beat the price and nice sound quality. I bought the Infinity 163 speakers and didn't like them.

my budget around $250
Assuming they are going in a larger room like a living room, I think it will be challenge to find bookshelf speakers that will play as loud as you might like for $250. Look at the Klipsch as they have a reputation for being able to play loudly; however, recognize that whatever speakers you end up with, you will likely need to exercise moderation or you will ask too much of the speakers.
If they are for a bedroom you should be fine.
Your room size is useful information for your question.
