Lately I've been reading "How Music Works" by David Byrne (former lead singer of the Talking Heads). Great book that talks about a wide range of topics in music, from the origins of recorded music and music engineering, to comparing various musical styles, to how to listen to various types of music. Sometimes we all get so focused here on the equipment, but this book really focuses on the music itself. Highly recommended for anyone with a passion for the topic.
