Bluetooth range options

Looking to figure out best way to link my home stereo to my phone to play music via spotify etc. Right now we have been using bluetooth to connect but the range limitations are becoming an issue since this is at our lake house and when can't control music from the dock. Was looking at wifi but service where house is at is limited. What are the better options out there to utilize would like to use something like chromecast etc... But those all require a wifi connection.

Thanks

Wifi does not require outside ISP. You could just buy of the shelf Wifi Router and install it at your remote house. it would only be used for wireless network between your phone and chromecast. I assume you have android based phone? If you have iphone, then AirPlay devices would be your choice.

What about a router with wireless. With good range. I use ubi soft access point for wireless range.

Thanks that's what I was hoping to be able to do to have better range. Wasn't quite sure how the streaming aspect over chromecast worked assume as long as the music etc was downloaded already on phone data wouldbt be an issue, cell service in area is spotty. However we have a mix of apple and Android devices.

If you already have a network/router setup at the house, you just need to extend the range of the wifi. To do so, you can add a wireless access point (WAP). This is how most businesses, hotels, etc. do it. They have access points all over the building to allow customers access to the network.

With Apple specific devices, pair it with an Airport Express and you can go directly from your phone, to the audio system with ease.

Another note, is the access points come in a ton of flavors, which includes versions designed specifically to be used outdoors, and units which are designed specifically for long range use. So, you can run a wire down to the dock and put a WAP right at the dock. Or use a long range version near the back door and see if that gives you good coverage where you need it.

If you do not have a router currently, you should pick one up to go along with it. I would not get a router with integrated wireless if you don't have to as the built in wireless range is likely not going to cover you all the way to where you need it, but... some might.

The easiest way to extend the range of wifi is using these: https://store.google.com/product/google_wifi
Approx 1 each per 1-1.5k sqft
