Did you know the term "bluegrass" was invented by Bill Monroe in the early 60's and didn't exist before that? :D

Do you like the Dillards? Remember them on "The Andy Griffith Show"?

Actually, this thread might be more appropriate in the "Musical Goodness" forum. Don't be surprised (or insulted) if it gets moved.

I'm not sure if I qualify as a bluegrass audiophile, becaude I like to listen to the really old stuff from 78 rpm days. Of course I listen to newer artists as well.

Fair enough. Didn't know that forum existed. Mods please delete...

I grew up around bluegrass. My dad has been in one band or another all my life. I grew up going to festivals and still enjoy them today. I play a little guitar and sing but more often I'm running the sound board. I do sound engineering for anything but I specialize in acoustic (mostly bluegrass) music and I run the sound at several festivals around here. I also engineered the latest CD for my dad's band, Runaway Train.

My dad is co-producer of one of them and it is a lot of fun running sound for it. We had Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen there last year along with Kathy Kallick and a bunch of regional bands. I record video and audio of a lot of the bands and post the on my Youtube channel. I have a few videos in a Youtube playlist from this past year.

Wintergrass is another event I love. One of the biggest festivals on the west coast and I am lucky enough to have been hired to run sound at one of the stages the past few years.

Have never made it to IBMA but hope to some day.

I'm not clear on this, is the OP asking audiophiles from the Bluegrass State to unite or is he asking folks interested in Bluegrass music to unite? BTW, is Bluegrass music similar to Hillbilly music?
