I purchased a blue ray player. I hooked the hdmi cable from cable box to blue ray player, but there is no picture when turned on. There is no hdmi hookup on projection tv (9 yrs. old hd tv hd 1080i) I am not sure what to do next. Any help appreciated Thank you

Use component video cable (red/green/blue) from the BD player to the TV.

So how were you getting a picture from the cable box previously?

You can't go from the cable box to the BD player to the TV. It doesn't work that way. You will have to have your cable box and BD player hooked up to different inputs on your TV.

Sounds like the only excuse you need to buy a new TV!!:D
