So let me set the record straight. I don't care who wins in this format war...whether Sony or Toshiba....what I care is and here is my question because I don't understand a thing about those high-def thing.
I own a Sony CRT projection tv, I think it's the 51' that I got for free ( plus a $600 snow blower for free) when I bought my cousin's car( 96 toyota camry for $4,000-he's an idiot). Anyway here's my question, if I ever buy one of those high-def dvd player, will my 51' crt Sony be able to display those so called 1080p resolution? or whaterver it is...because I don't have tons of cash to buy a new dlp lcd lcos's tv or whatever they have. 3 grants for a tv? are those people insane (the ones that are selling those expensive tv I meant)? There are a lot of starving people in this world.... 3 grants can feed quiet a few of them for a long time.

Don't know the model number of your TV or if it is HD compatible at all.

1. It probably won't accept 1080p - most don't.

2. HD disc players WILL downconvert to a format your TV CAN use. This includes 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i.

3. 3 grand - as in $3,000.00 - Grants are typically monetary gifts to companies. ;) Yes, there are starving people in this world, I see them all the time on my 3 grand plasma.
