I recently came across a very interesting Blu-ray player. It has the ability to play files from a hard drive and even has a web browser built in! It's made by a company called HDI in Israel. There are a couple US dealers listed. Does anyone own one of these? They look nice but, I never heard of this company before.

If you do a Google search for "hdi dune player" you'll find a lot of sites and a review.

Never heard of it. No Offense intended if this is a legit post, this sounds almost like cleverly worded spam.

The PS3 does that and more and is readily availible in the US.

No Offense taken. I never thought about a PS3. A friend of mine got an X-box and that has media center built in (but no blu-ray). :( I'm not a gamer and would really prefer something I can put in a rack in my home theater.

You don't need to be a gamer to enjoy the capabilites of the PS3, I have 2 of them, one in each of my systems, and even though I do play games, I don't really use the PS3 for games, that's what my 360 is for. One other really nice thing about the PS3 is that it has built in wi-fi which makes updating it very easy, and since it's a very major product from Sony, it will receive plenty of updates all the time. It also has support for keyboards, mice, and printers... definitely check it out, and if you find that you don't like it, you shouldn't have any trouble selling it since there is still quite a demand for them.

The PS3 allows you connect devices to it via bluetooth. There is a new update to it every coulpa months too. When I bought mine it didn't do DTS MA, a few updates later and it did, but only in 5.1. A few months later and another update and it does it in 7.1.

It may not look as nice in a rack as some other players, a matter of opinion od course, but few if any other BD players have had the versatility and upgradeability of the PS3. Something to consider.
