So I'm pretty sure my Receiver just put a gun in it's mouth and pulled the trigger. :(

I've got an old Pioneer Elite VSX-33TX that won't turn on any more. The red standby light still lights up when it's plugged in, but that's it! When you press the power button, sometimes there is the clicking sound it makes when it powers on, but nothing happens. What do you think, is it time to bite the bullet and replace the old gal?

Thanks!

I had the same problem with mine their is a reset trick as long as the standby light is still on. Push and hold the multijog enter knob and the advanced DTS button on the front of the unit at the same time. Do this for about 3 -4 seconds. That should do the trick. If not you've got a more serious problem. Hope this helps. Let me know if it works.
I collect Elite models.(17 so far) I have two of the 33TX models. On one there is no power at the stand by light, so this trick dosent work. Wish I knew whats going on there? The unit was a store return thats been sitting in a stock room for 9 years, and appears as new. Guess I'll dish out the dough to have it fixed.

What preceded the receiver not working?

If you have a cat or dog, check your speaker wires for bite marks. You may just have a blown fuse.
