I am a new member, and i just blew a mid in one of my SM 112, and now it's time to replace/upgrade.

I was hoping to hear some opinions from you guys.

I have in most part narrowed my search to Polk RTI-10, KEF (not sure yet on model), Cambridge Soundworks T-200, or Klipsh RF-82.

I have a Harman Kardon AVR 500, Cambridge surronds and center and a Velodyne Sub VRB-1000

Planning on ordering Cambridge online? They recently closed all of their retail stores and sell online only now. The T-200 wouldn't be on my list really. They are good, but not spectacular. The RTi-10s should be a solid one, though they do dip to a bit lower impedance. KEF is always good too. Not a big fan of Klipsch personally.

I think that i am leaning more towards the KEF IQ9 or Referance 203, however i am wondering what you mean about the Polk RTi 10, and would the RTi 12 be a better choice, I am thinking about upgrading my reciever at the same time i buy new speakers within the nest 2-3 wks, just so i can get something with a bit more power.

The 12 will dip low also. It is the 8 that does not, AFAIK. What I mean by that is somone here tested them and they have a lower average impedance than the claimed 8 Ohms, so they will like decent amplification. Same with the KEFs IMO, especially the Refs. H/Ks tend to be pretty stout, so I would say you might be OK.

Thanks J, it's been about 12-14 yrs since i have had to shop for new speakers so to me a lot of this is like german to me ya know. I am glad that i found such a great site with informative members, i really appreciate your help with this and i'm sure i will have more questions about recievers in the near future, i do want to stick with H/K.

Infinity 112 Speakers impedance?

I read your thread and I thought you would be able to help me.. I have the SM112 and lost the specifications to them.. I bought a new pioneer receiver and it has a function where you can choose the impedance amount. It be most appreciated if you can tell me what the impedance amount is for these speakers...
Thanks in the advance
-Glenn
