The amp blew in my father's Plus/2. First blown fuse, then a second, then a third (without even being played). SVS cross shipped a replacement amp (within 2 days, 4 days before christmas). Did a little surgery according to near-perfect instructions (only problem is there are 10 screws holding the amp in, not 12). They even sent the square bit for the drill, which was a nice touch. Excellent to deal with all the way around.
Fired it back up. Sounded great.
I was surprised how heavy the drivers were. On the web they don't look big and heavy. And it was a *lot* easier than i thought it would be, the drivers have spring loaded banana clip like retention mechanisms that make changing them literally a five-minute job. The longest part was taking out the 8 screws that hold each driver in place.
Seeing how simple the inside is -- three ports into a piece of MDF is just about the only other thing in the box, i have high hopes for the ease of a DIY project.
Anyway, just thought i'd share...second time this week for excellent customer service from and internet-direct company (the first was AV123).
