Have been looking at the TX-NR905 with a lot of interest, especially with a MSRP of approx $2100(US)

Spoke to a local retailer today and guess how much????

$4999.00

With an Aussie/US exchange of 0.84c, where do they get off pulling this sort of price out of their rectum?!!!!!!

If Denon /Yamaha do a similar spec'd unit at a better price you won't have to guess what I will buy.

Sheesh!!!:mad::mad:

I guess this is one of those situations where a problem shared ISN'Ta problem halved. (would be nice though.)

That's down right highway robbery:eek:
Did you ask why those high prices?
Would a unit from here work there or the voltage 220?

I did ask and the rep told me that it was the MSRP, but the brochure he was showing me (manager's copy) had the prices penned in next to each unit, so it is pretty fishy.

For the unit to work here I would have to use a step-down converter which isn't a problem. The only real problem is any warranty issues, that the local authorized repairers would honour an American warranty.

I'm happy to fly over and get it for the price difference.

Of course that is fishy:D
MSRP should be in print, not penned in. :rolleyes:
May want to fire off an email to the company HQ and see if MSRP is the same with exchange rates taken into consideration, or it floats:eek:

Yes, I bet you'd fly here, get a bargain and have a nice vacation, on Clint:D
Most likely the warranty would not be honored there. But, you could call one of the service centers there.
