I have a PS3 that I can get to bitstream audio formats such as
dts 5.1 for audio CD's
dts 96/24 (This does work even though Sony say's no it won't just let it bitstream)
dts 5.1 for DVD
dts-ES 6.1 (This does work even though Sony say's no it won't just let it bitstream)
and all of Dolby bitstreams, but one I can't seem to get to work is aac. This is even an option that's under the audio settings option. I select this option but every aac file that plays back is played in LPCM. Am I doing something wrong? Or the files I have not encoded right. I have 5.1 aac files and it plays back in LPCM 5.1 I just want the PS3 to bitstream it as it says it can do.
Also the trick to get dts 5.1 for your dts audio CD's is as such...
For HDMI set your settings as so...
Sound Settings:
Check Dolby Digital 5.1Ch & dts 5.1Ch (LPCM 2Ch 44.1Khz & 48Khz are checked by force)
Music Settings:
Check that 44.1/88.2/176.4 is your setting along with Bitmapping TYPE 3 is selected.
For Optical this is the way you're going to have to go.
Sound Settings:
Check Dolby Digital 5.1Ch & dts 5.1Ch (LPCM 2Ch 44.1Khz & 48Khz are checked by force)
Music Settings:
Check that 44.1/88.2/176.4 is your setting along with Bitmapping OFF is selected.
This will allow you to playback and listen to your dts-CD's. Any other questions on how to with Audio and Video I'll be glad to change my setup to get yours working.
He is a little forum I try and update as much as I can. But again, please any help would be great on aac bitstream... Thanks in advance.
