BIC DV62 CLR-S Review?

I have heard of some mods for the BIC centers but...

1. Why would you modify a engineered speaker? I believe the people who built it knew a little somethin about what they were doing (BIC seems to be rave reviews for the proce around here) and probably knew something about the speaker characteristics which were never meantion by the reviewer when he was tweaking his speaker.

2. He give his resume' of all the reasons why he is qualified to review these speakers (including his 4.0 in 1968 ... that's good now I will definitely trust his review) but yet after this article he post another article talking about the imaging problems (Second Article). Working at high end stores at various time in his life it seems like he would have picked up somewhere that the placement of the speakers effects the soundstage. It seems he is almost flaburgasted at this knew found knowledge.

Maybe it is just me but I think this article is ridiculous.

P.S. Sorry if the person who wrote this lurks around here. Not trying to offend you. Maybe you'll take this as pointers on your next review. Which from your history that maybe around 2026.

The article is poorly written, but does make a few good points.

Normally you wouldn't, but it's a $120 speaker. They aren't going to use top end crossovers in a $120 speaker. You bring up a good point. If this Frias mod works so well, why didn't BIC improve on their design already?

2. He give his resume' of all the reasons why he is qualified to review these speakers (including his 4.0 in 1968 ... that's good now I will definitely trust his review)
A decorated scholar, if you will.

I just think its funny that he thought his 4.0 in 1968 would give him more credibility, but Buck does make a point, he may have well put more time and effort into the cross over design than BIC orignally had.
