Just got my notice from UPS via email, my speakers are 250 miles away as of like 30 min ago. Hopefully they will be out on a truck in a short while and I'll be able to pick them up at the distrobution center here in STL later tonight. The anticipation is unbearable now....

In need of smaller speakers, I've placed my 3 front Acoustech speakers up for auction on eBay.

If anyone is from the Wash, DC area, they could pick 'em up and save on shipping. The Acoustech speakers are very good sounding speakers. I just have too many speakers coming out the wazoo at the moment. :)

I would have ordered it, but I already have way too much crap to take across the state to put into my room at college, have to wait until at the earliest sunday when I'm up there to order it, so I can just have the sub shipped there instead of transporting it.

I'm in the same boat. I have about 18 speakers in the house. With a total of a whopping about 40 drivers...
3 or 4 receivers, 3 or 5 dvd players, 2 cd players, etc.......

LOL thats about like me, I have my old sony system, so thats 6 speakers plus receiver, im working on the new acoustech and 1015tx system 3 mains plus a sub. I have some Yamaha book shelves, another pair of book shelves i'm using as rears right now, they are old and dont have any labeling on them, i have a system out in the garage with a receiver and 2 book shelves I think they are older sony's. Every single DVD player in my dad's house is one that i've previously had and just given away 5 of them I think. I have 3 pc's, 2 of which have a monitor, the third is my 21" LCD that I broke moving out of my apt a few months ago  , plus I have all kinds of other crap in storage that I need to move into my room at school like my Big Screen. I need to start selling some stuff

Bummer. UPS is usually pretty reliable, but sometimes some weird stuff can happen. I ordered some Sennheiser headphones last year, and as I anxiously awaited their delivery they got held up for 2 days because the train they were on derailed!

Holy crap, so UPS online tracking is screwy and both towers were at my house when I got home. All I gotta say is these things are sexy, tall slender, sure wish they had carpet spikes but seem to be stable regardless. They are even better than I had hoped, a little lacking in the bass dept. but maybe they just need to be broken in. Highs are great, really like the horn tweeters now that I have a full set up front, great dynamics with the Acoustech center. They def. need a sub for the lower stuff, but the midbass isnt bad, midrange sound is very good. I can't really sit here and write anymore I have to start throwing in some movies, first up I think will 5th element. Anyways, anyone looking for a entry level system should check the Acoustech series out, for the price I think they are amazing, but everyone has their own tastes and these are mine so of course I'm going to think they are great. When I put in the DTS Demo Disc 9 and was going through the clips I should have taken a picture of myself b/c i was grinning ear to ear. Even my dad who doesnt like the fact that I spend the money on this stuff watched it with me and he was smiling too. Who needs to go to the theater, I have my own right here hahahahaha :)

That's one happy man. Congrats on the new system.

The woofers will loosen up a bit, and you'll find more bass as time progresses. Some say 20 hours for break in. Myth or not, I think you'll notice a difference in a few days.

Do you have your receiver set to "no sub," with the bass tone control up a tad? And are the towers near corners? Placement will make all the difference in the world. If they're further than 30" from a corner, you'll cut the bass response in half. Realistically, those drivers are more for midbass "punch," which you'll really appreciate when you mesh your new sub into the mix.

So do you think you got your money's worth? ;)

It is true that the towers don't go deep with the bass. But I think that they were designed specifically for a home theater setup with a sub, as opposed to standalone 2 channel play. I run my Yamaha with all speakers set to small, including the towers, and once I got the sub dialed in right everything meshed really well.

Well I can't sleep b/c of drunk friends that are already back at school and keep calling me, so... Just want to comment, yes these are def. home theater speakers and are meant to be used with a sub, the sony 8" from my HTIB setup just doesnt do them justice so I cant wait to order my cadence. They do sound very good with my rock music and have a little bass to them, but they are only dual 6.5's so its about as much to be expected. Did I mention they look great, I can't get over that, they don't look like I only paid $150 for them which makes me even happier. The downside is that I have pack these guys back up since I have to pack to go back to college this weekend so I don't get to listen to them anymore until sunday :( . So I'll have to setup everything back up and mess with placement in my room at school, but it'll be fun to tweak to get the sound just right.

Remember, the Fluance set I have, has only 1 6.5 and by chance it has tons more bass than these. I would easily recommend those to someone that is not going to buy a sub. Or someone who listens to 2 channel musis a lot...
I am happy with the HT-75's however I do feel, they lack in the bass, but are superb in the mids and highs, and intergrate well with a sub. BTW the H100 is on the way :) Hmm, maybe dual 12" sub set-up.... Nah, I'll still end up with a SVS ISD/V or HSU VTF-3 MKII
