I have read many descriptions and explanations of bipole speakers. Most all do explain that the speakers are in phase while dipole speakers are out of phase. Most say that monopoles give direct precise location sound while the bipole is diffused. Most bipoles are basically 2 monopoles mounted back to back with no sound directed to listener. My bipoles are 1 woofer and 2 tweeters per speaker. The woofer is facing the listening area just like a monopole. One tweeter is angled 45 degees in one direction and the other tweeter 45 degrees in opposite direction. Why is there never any advice or discussion about speaker box shape and positioning of drivers within the box? Any thoughts?

I can only speak for the bi-poles I own. They are definitive technology bp2002tl's. They actually "tune" the rear drivers differently from the front ones and do extensive real world (rather than computer) accoustic testing. I find them to have a large but well defined soundstage. Every review that I have ever read about them (which is several) gives them high marks for ht and stereo as well.
