Now that I have raced ahead with equipment purchases, I think it is time to slow down and figure out what I'm doing.

1) My initial goal is to build a component stereo system. The components I have so far include, a pair of Advent AS/2 floor standing speakers, Onkyo M-282 power amplifier (100 WPC), and a 10 year old Sony CD player. I am looking for a recommendation on the purchase of a pre-amp that can support a bi-amp set-up.

The Onkyo M-282 has a Pre-In and Pre-Out connection, that allows a pre-amp connection, and to cascade to additional amps. Could I bi-amp by wiring one amp to the LF terminals on the corresponding speakers, and wiring the second amp to the HF terminals on the speakers?

Alternatively, I could get a pre-amp with two Pre-out which would cost more money possibly.

2) After I have established the base bi-amp configuration, I would like to upgrade the system component by component over the next several years. What sage advise would you recommend concerning next set of upgrades.
