Bi-amping speakers - SR6001 for stereo audio.

I was just looking through the manual and see where, if my speakers have the separate connections, I can use four of the seven channels to bi-amp these speakers.
Am I correct in believing that doing this would pretty much eliminate any concern that I might need more amplifier and would improve sound?
Are there any disadvantages to this set up?

We get this question again and again. There is no advantage to passive biamping, and no it won't change your power requirements, as the power to the high pass filter is minimal comapared to the low pass.

Some people seem convinced that it makes a difference, some are convinced that it will never make a difference. If you have some spare speaker wire, I say give it a try. If it sounds better to you, then great. If it doesn't sound any different to you, then you're not really out anything but a little bit of time (assuming that you know how to connect it all properly and don't damage anything).

Its a total waste of time,but as Adam said if you have the time you can see it makes no difference for yourself.Question answered.IMO of course......
