bi-amping and bi wiring

I need to know more about this.
Adv vs. disadv.
Will this increase overall volume power? Sound quality improve? Does this push or challenge the amp more or is this easier on the amp?

I apparrently have bought some good equip at good prices. I want to utilize it to the best of my equip.

I have some Europas b y Radient. I paid $99 and they are unreal. I have them sitting on top of my Klipsh KG4.2s. Together they sound very good.

Anyway, I want to explore bi wiring. I have a Pioneer vsx-d601. can i bi wire and bi amp these speakers. The Europas have a set of 2 pass through screw down connectiors connected by a gold plate.

I saw some rca 16 gauge speaker wire cheap. Would this be a good buy?

Thanks.
Ken

You've got a lot you are asking about.

1. The Pioneer receiver is extremely outdated and is not very good. It's entry level and incapable of biamping.

2. Bi-wiring is typically called BUY wiring. It's a waste of money and produces absolutely no audible difference, period.

3. Bi-amping can be good if you have really good speakers, and good amplifiers which can discretely power the separate sections of the speakers and you will be playing them at volumes which will drive the amplifiers hard.

4. Generally, you want to go with 14 or 12 gauge cabling, not 16 gauge, except for VERY short runs. You can pick up inexpensive 12 gague cabling at HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!

5. The Radiient speakers seem to be of solid mid-level quality and should be fine. Bi-amping them at some point may make sense with the appropriate setup.

6. I would hope you are not running your Klispch speakers at the same time you are running the Radiients. Typically, this is not condusive to good sound, but you seem to like what you are hearing, so it's your ears on this one.

Thanks

You have helped me as I am a nubie.

What would be a good receiver for powering 100watt reocmmendation on loudspeakers? Say I wanted to get the most out of my Klipsch 4.2....what would be a good product to purchase? How about older yamaha receivers?
Like an R-700 or r-v901, CR-66II ?

How much would you expect to pay for a simple receiver or amp that is 2 channel a/b speaker switch capable? I am curious to what is good quality since you bombed my Pioneer which i paid $600 back in 1991. Would you recommend an older model that is 'good' quality or something from the current model year?
Also, my brother has PSBs and I think they are very nice speakers...how do they rank in the world of hi fi?

Thanks.

91 was a long time ago :) First we need to know your price range for a receiver.

Unless you build the speakers yourself then bi-wiring/bi-amping is normally useless.

Agree with the post above; bi-wiring is practically useless.

I've been actively tri-amping my Klipsch Cornwall II for three years now, and I'll never go back.

Snap your neck back dynamics.
