AV123 is currenty offering thier ELT525 5.0 system for $800. Is there a better system for that pice? I currenty have the classic ELT system, although they sound great for HT, they lack 'oomph" in music. I have a Mirage S10 to handle my bass and a Pioneer 1014 reciever.
My room is apporox 18x13x8 and I want a detailed HT experience but with mains that will handle music great. I love bass/midbass and detailed highs so i'm thinking about stepping up to floorstanders to get a lil more lows. My budget is low ~$1000 for L/R/C. Surrounds can come later if need be. Just wondering what your thoughts are on this system, or if i can do better. Thanks!

I just ordered a pair of swan 4.2s for $709, you can get a center that matches for $289, both are on sale at www.theaudioinsider.com. I am taking a small gamble on these, how ever if you read reviews they seem to very solid speakers that will not disappoint. They are also running a shipping special right now for only $9.95.

I posted the link to the ELT deal yesterday. I'm sure other options exist for $799, but that's still an excellent deal. The real question is whether you'll like how the ELT's sound. Everyone's taste is different.

To me, the ELT towers are a bit small - much smaller than one would expect. This could create a problem for some people as it might bring the tweeter height lower than a proper listening level. However, if you have a theater with risers, etc., having a shorter speaker may not be that big of a deal. Then again, the smaller tower might have a better WAF appeal since they are not so monsterous.

With the size aside, I did hear the ELT towers with music, not movies. The sound was quite impressive and only got better when a subwoofer was attached.
