If individually then there are better options. I generally only have people hop on the Monitor 70's when Newegg is blowing them out plus the free shipping.

jinjuku Moderator Jun 15, 2011 #10 THIS IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT Yamaha RX-V2092 $75. If it's in good condition (most likely is with it being a high end purchase) it gives you around another $200 towards speakers..

This one should do the trick: http://boise.craigslist.org/ele/2435309598.html - I think you should be able to get it at $100 or less Save the money on the receiver - get better speakers.

I would take it over the HK and use the $$ toward speakers. So recommendations for $700 worth of speakers are in order. Last edited: Jun 15, 2011

Agreed! I second this. Although granted, the raw MDF ain't much of a finish.

You could post in the DIY section here, AVS, Home Theater Shack and see if there is a member there that could help you DIY. Just a thought. Depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to chase. Check out Zaphaudio.com for starters. If not no worries. Good luck.

S SafeandSound Enthusiast Jun 17, 2011 #19 Can they really sound good they are very low priced. I am sure you can get a bargain these days on stuff made in China but I do wonder what level of design and parts could have been applied at that price. cheers

Agree with this 100%. Add a great subwoofer, and you got yourself a title contender!!! Or I would get the NHT AbsoluteZero for $175 each + a great subwoofer.
