Best Way to use the Disney WOW

hey guys,
I just picked up the Panny 65ST60 TV and am using CNET's picture settings and I'm not real happy with their results. My question: I have a Panny DMP-BDT500 BD player with dual HDMI outs and the Disney WOW calibration disc. Would the preferred method be to connect main players HDMI out directly to TV and calibrate the TV with the WOW, right now I'm just using one of the dual HDMI outs into my receiver then out to my TV. Thanks guys, looking forward to your replies.
Cheers Jeff

I would calibrate it hooked up exactly as you planned to use it. If that doesn't involve the receiver then hook up directly through the receiver. If it does then run it through the receiver.

In theory there shouldn't be any difference so long as you haven't touched the picture settings on the receiver, but couldn't hurt.

Thanks my man as always, and no I haven't touched the picture settings in the receiver, so again thanks Alex, just confirming my thoughts, that's how I'm using it. ;)

I just picked that version up, but I have the first one also from way back when I bought my 83SE.

There's also Spears and Munsil 2. I have both discs, I find SM harder to use but has more options. WOW is easier to navigate, and on all the main points (brightness, contrast, color, etc...) you'll get similar results. I wouldn't recommend copying someone else's settings blindly. Also, I've read the Amazon reviews of that set, some break it in for 100-200 hours with slides. Even those that don't report a better picture after the 100-200 hour mark.

Post 4 :p

Personally I don't find S&P hard to use. The on screen directions, plus the booklet make things pretty straightforward IMO, but there are a lot of settings and it's a time consuming process. Speaking of, it's about time for me to recalibrate my projector.
