Well until they release the invisible gold plated silver core oxygen free ssshhhiiizzznnneeettt then you have a few choices. You could go in wall or use the plastic hooks with a nail in them that the cable guys use and just hug the floorboard base..........you want to stay and watch if you hire someone to do it or this could happen

You could always just put the wire on the ceiling. However, that really depends on how tall your ceiling is. :p

If you really want to hide them, you could take a rotozip and cut a short, depth line in the sheetrock, bury the cable and then mud over the top, sand and then paint. They will be hidden, and away from the 2 year old. Just remeber the line you ran them.

You could also pull off the basboard, put them under or behind the base and reattach the baseboard. Just be carful not to break, or you will have to get new. Doing this will have to recalk and paint perhaps.

Or, you could use wiremold and attach to wall, and put cable in it. Keeps it out of the way, but it is tacky.

If in wall or in ceiling are not an option, consider flat wire that you can stick to your wall and paint.

I like the baseboard idea. Simple and functional. Why didn't I think of that? Might have to try it in the basement.

When I put my HT stuff in, there was no WAF to worry about. I drilled into the floor and ran the wires for the rear channels under the floor. The holes are hidden by the TV stand and a couch. Fine solution until I get new carpet. Not sure what I want to do when I replace it. I like the idea of having it wired by a professional. Fewer exposed wires and much neater looking. Hopefully it won't be too expensive.
