Best Way to Play Video from Notebook to TV??

I want to play music videos, which are on my notebook memory...and play them through the TV. I have a new panasonic, to it has all the capabilities i would need.

Essentially, I want my TV to function as a media play.

Two questions first...

Does your TV have a VGA input?

Does your laptop have a video output?

Also are you expecting to control the laptop/media player using the TV remote?

Laptop to TV

For video, use a VGA, DVI, or HDMI output from the laptop to an input on the TV. If you TV doesn't have a VGA input, you can get an adapter to go from VGA to component video. You can also use DVI to HDMI cable if you have a DVI video output.
You have to use a function key, usually Function F8 to enable the video output.

For audio, you can use the headphone output and an adapter to allow for the red/white analog audio connection to the TV or your receiver. My laptop also has a digital coax audio output which I can connect to the receiver.
