best way to do a cross talk test?

I was just curious if Gene or Clint, or anyone in the know could tell me what method works best for performing a quick cross talk isolation test on receivers.

This is the method Ive been using. 1. Tune in a strong FM station. 2. Select an unused analog source and adjust the volume. 3. Listen for the tuner/radio cross talk, noting the volume level.

Is there a better, more telling way to do this? Are there certain sections of the receiver that are more succeptable than others to this problem?

That works to isolate the Tuner (which is a noisy little device all by itself) crosstalk, but does not serve other channels. It's the only method I know of, and was shown to me many years ago as the reason to by separates or a very good receiver.
