hi guys, i have quite a few items i want to hook them all up together for the best sound and picture quality. So please let me know. I have:
1) Desktop : DVI capable (im using DVI-HDMI cable to TV right now, but using the computer speaker. I want to also hook this up to surround sound for movies)
2) Samsung 750 serie HDTV : 4 hdmi input and all those sort of things...
3) Ps3 : 1 HDMI, 1 digital (right now, i hook HDMI from ps3 to TV & digital optical cable to surround sound...is this the best way ?) I'm mostly using PS3 for everything : games, movies, musics....
4)Samsung surround sound (HT-AS720 model) : has 2 Digital optical in, 2 HDMI in, 1 HDMI out , 1 coaxial in....

So please let me know what's the best set up, i don't mind going out to buy a few more cables or hooking extra for the better quality. Thank you !

You need to hook the PC and PS3 into the Samsung HDMI inputs, and then the samsung output to your display. That'll get you all the surround sound you need and minimize clutter.

What kind of audio outputs do you have on your PC? There are lots of pretty decent sound cards with Toslink outs...if you don't have one, I'd pick one up.

Same Type Of Question But...

with a ps3, hd directv box and sony receiver with out any hdmi inputs or outputs and 50" samsung plasma. since i don't have hdmi thru the receiver should i connect the directv box and ps3 to the to the plasma with hdmi cables or just use component wires for the directv box and the ps3 and connect directly to the receiver. what will i be missing with the component set up. ond where does the fiber optics come in at? do i need two cables for each item and connect it to the receiver? HELP!!! I have all of the neccessary cables but i want the best suround sound and movie experience. The plasma is only 720p and only a few blu ray movies which look pretty good to me.
