Hello, I am new to the Audio world and I am looking to build up my first theater system.

I Have a Budget of $400-$700 and am looking for some great quality Bass and sound for blasting my favourite Trance music, Playing my favourite games at maximum volume.

I need:

Speakers -
Subwoofer -
Receiver -

What I am aiming for on a reciever is:

- 5.1 receiver
- Audio over HDMI
- At least 3 HDMI inputs. (Apple TV, PS3 & Cable)

Please Help

Everything i have looked up previously is outdated and old.

Thank you!

Your budget will barely cover your receiver "wants/needs," much less any quality speakers and a sub.

For everything you need, plan on $2,000 for a decent 5.1 setup with a nice receiver.

You can put together decent system at that budget. Older equipment may be the best way to go.
At your budget you're looking at HTIB (home theater in a box) systems which can be good.

Here are a couple of suggestions.

1) A little over budget, but a good system.

Mirage MX 5.1 Home theater speaker system 5.1 channel speaker system at Vanns.com

The above, with this receiver.

Sony STR-DH520 7.1 channel 3D ready home theater receiver (STR DH520) at Vanns.com

2) This would be very good for the price.

Newegg.com - ONKYO HT-S3400 5.1 Home Theater System

Newegg.com - Home Theater Systems

Welcome to the forum and good luck!

He can get a receiver that meets all his requirements for $134 shipped (Pioneer 521, sale ends today at Newegg).

That leaves $565 for speakers+sub.

He can get a pair of P153s for for another $150, leaving over $400 for a sub. That's enough for an STF-2.

So there you go.

Pioneer VSX-521 ($134)
Infinity Primus P153 pair ($150)
HSU STF-2 ($350+shipping)

He can add some more P153s or a PC251 later. For $700 this is a pretty ballin setup.

I love AH. Guy says he wants to spend $500-$700 and he gets recommendations for $1500 systems ;)

Yup!

Although within his budget, I think your recommendation works well. He just has to realize he's getting a receiver, only 2 small bookshelves and a mid-tier sub. But that HSU will definitely add some bump to his trance music.

Rave anyone?

I'm having a Déjà vu
Once I said exactly same thing but I don't remember whom exactly was much high priced recommendation, but I think it was from G-EV and it was (i think) a rec. for JTR speaker - way out of OP's budget...

I gave this rec to answer OP's wants but not his budget to show it's unrealistic.
Imho other systems suggested below would not meet his "wants" for
great quality Bass and sound for blasting my favourite Trance music, Playing my favourite games at maximum volume.
