There is some nice bowed and plucked double bass on the Peter Gabriel album, no doubt, but a double bass doesn't
usually go lower than E1 at 41hz. The type of stuff I am referencing is sub 40hz stuff. You know musical chest rattling sub bass that is
lower than 40hz. Which you get a lot of in movies LFE, but only touches of in music because engineers usually put a cutoff shelf between 30 and 40hz when mastering.
You know, tracks that hit your sub like the LFE in moves does.
If you get a FLAC of that Bug track I referenced, the shelf is definitely lower than 30hz. People that produce this kind of music call it "System music" (a newer style of dub), referencing old reggae sound systems.
