The title pretty much says it.

I’m new to home theatres. I’m going to pair this with my Polk Monitor 60s but I hear that Polk’s subs don’t rate too highly.

I’m open to new or used.

Thanks in advance!

A pair of these…

RSL speedwoofer is 430ish. More linear, but having duals for Better FR potential, and a little more headroom goes towards the Daytons.

Also as @vader540is said, the used market is great for budget shopping, and the NSD is a great choice if you can find one in your area.
That of course is relative. But the 400 dollar subwoofer range is tough, believe it or not.

I would go for the Rogersound Labs Speedwoofer 10S for sure. Recommended by Wirecutter as the best $400 sub. Plenty of other reviews on it.

There's also the Dayton Audio 1200 that has the lowest price point that Wirecutter tested and won out.

Erin's Audio Corner just released a budget subwoofer shootout.
