Hello Gurus,
I am new to the site, i am looking for help pairing up speakers for a new B&K
REF70 & 200.7 AMP, assuming a budget of about $10K, i have been eyeballing
B&W's 803D.
I know speakers are pretty subjective, but before i bite the bullet, i would love to get some input.

In that price range you might consider listening to Sonus Farber. There are so many good speakers out there in that range. Are you looking for just 2 towers or the whole 7.1 System for your budged? If you're looking to get 7.1 system you might have to spend more than $10.000.--, considering the great frontend your using.

I was thinking those exact same speakers. They are my favorite and I have listened to them many times with that same amp and they are absolutely delightful

I auditioned the Strativarius a few years back. My speakers are very good. I have around $15.000.-- in 7.2 setup. After listening to these Sonus Farbers I always keep saying to my self, one of these days. I could not reproduce that same high feeling I've got from those speakers. It was a total rush. Blows Wilsons away by a long shoot.

Wilsons are actually my next favorite speaker. I love the Alexandria's and Maxx3. I can never get past the Cremona's though for their price. I recently got to listen to the new Klimt line by Vienna, a pretty impressive speaker as well.

By the way OP, only post this one time, in the speaker section only. You don't need a duplicate thread in the Amp section.

To me, this question is kind of like buying an engine and then saying give me choices of cars to put it in; sort of backwards. Obviously, you have the amp already though, so I would really just get out there and do some listening. It is a great budget and I would be listening to all of the speakers mentioned. I'd also throw out www.aerialacoustics.com and www.josephaudio.com , two of my favorite speaker manufacturers.

I have heard some good stuff form Aerial acoustics. I want to add one more to the mix. The new platinum series by monitor audio. I have heard some great reviews of them, but have never listened to them myself.

Josehp Audio great speakers. The speakers I own now are build by John Sollecito Engineering who was the OEM for (JSE Infinite Slope). From what I understand that is one of the best crossovers ever made. The credit for that crossover went to Richard Modaferri.

I had read about the crossover prior to listening to them, and I am a believer. They literally make those speakers sing. They are so natural sounding yet articulate.

Wow,
Thanks for all the great input,i have been away from my computer, & apologize for not being able to reply for awhile.
in reference to one of your questions, my budget of 10k, is toward just the 2 front floorstanding.
There are so many choices out there, and i love the B&Ws,so getting input of this caliber, on this forum is greatly appreciated to help me narrow down my choices before i commit.
Thanks
