Just wondering if anyone had some input on what the best home theare receiver options are with a budget of $800 - $1000 USD. The theater will be used mainly for DVD, HDTV, and PS2. Will be purchasing Paradigm OW Monitor 5, OW CC-370, ADP 370 Surround, OW Mini-Monitor, and PDR 12 Sub. Will also use for audio enjoyment. Any help is appreciated.

Lots of threads on this price range. If 50 people respond, you'll see half for the Yammy 2500, half for the Denon. Either is a fine choice. Marantz came out with some new units also, which is a sister company of Denon.

I love this place. Great service, and outstanding prices. Nice selection today on receivers. Onkyo, Marantz, Denon, and a few others. The Denon 3805 at $699 is a great buy, as well as putting a bid on the Marantz SR8400 if you can get that for under $550. I know all of these are well under your budget, but why not save a few bucks while you're at it?

Marantz and Paradigm may be a little too laid back sounding. Yamaha and Denon are good choices but you should also audition NAD. The T753 would be within your budget and goes well with the speakers on your list. If you decided to go to speakers 4 or 6 ohm down the road you would not have to change your receiver if you went with NAD.

Personally I think the best match for your Paradigms is the yamaha 2500.

The flexibility to permit you to upgrade your system is important because you cannot afford to change everything at once. If the NAD system, permits that level of flexability and they have a history of providing quality sound equipment, they may be a good match. The speed of the Marantz etc is subjective.
