Hi all, this is my first home theatre set up and wondered what the best option is for rears? Floorstanders or bookshelves ?
I assume the former as they can play full range and have good bass response but alot of what i read say's that i should set my speakers to small anyway therefore taking away their so called strengths:confused: Also the bookshelves will require me to purchase stands and the others are already on them.I listen to about 60% movies and rest radio and cd's.
the speakers are:
Wharfedale diamonds
9.6 fronts
9.0 centre
and the options are 9.5 rears or 9.1 bookies
Sw150 sub
pioneer VSX-1015-s

Also the room is in an apartment and is 10mx10mx10m open sided on one edge and ranchsliders?windows on the other.
I have enough speakers to do a 7.1 setup but would rather keep a set of speakers for music which i will use on a NAD amp.
I guess what i want to ask is which should i put on my H/T? Any opinions welcome.

I couldnt afford the money for my matching Paradigm surrounds. I found some Sapphire SS surrounds which are a dipole surround. they work great for movies as well as SACD/DVD-Audio which I listen to alot of. they blend very nicely. tweeter said they dont go on sale and are $500 for the pair but I watch them and they do cut the price in half sometimes. only on the website though, not instore. I got them for $250 for the pair and I absolutely love them. sometimes they are not listed on the site. when they are instock they are.

they have some sapphire bookshelf which are priced nice and bet they sound great too.
