Best placement for my speakers

Hi. I am trying to figure out the best place to put my speakers. They are for a computer and it is in my bedroom, which has a shape that isn't very good for surround speakers. I posted an image of the basic shape of the room and where my desk is. The speakers I have are Logitech z680's. Right now I have my center speaker on top of my monitor pointing slightly down toward me. The front l/r speakers are on the desk. I can't really figure out a good place to put my rear speakers. Does anyone have any ideas?

I also have another question. I have my speakers connected to my computer with an Optical spdif connection, as well as analog 1/8" cables. When I have had something playing for a while in optical mode it will start to having a really scratchy sound. I have to switch back to analog. What could be causing that? I have tried two different cables with the same problem.

You Could

mount the rear speakers on the celing pointed towards you...that should work.
