Ok so I've gotten some great advice for my purchases, but now I need some stand up locations to buy this stuff from. Living in smallville USA there is a BB and a Twitter (its scary when you know more than the salesman).

So lets create a list of Authorized new and not authorized new, refurbished, online dealers to buy this great gear from. I am interested in Yamaha and Denon.

Thanks

Mark

Ubid, JR, Dakmart, Onecall, Pricegrabber (as a pricing spot check), and ebay - be very careful on ebay!

I bet if you post which receiver you are looking at, people will do some work for you and post where they have found the best price.

I recommend this site only because I purchased a Pioneer VSX 74TXVI receiver from them. I had a problem with the HDMI OUT, they told me to send it in and they shipped me a brand new one with no hassles. They have cheap prices but a limited selection.

I just picked up an Onkyo TX-SR503 on UBid for $120. It showed up at my house in three days. I would highly recommend them.

I bought from my Pioneer Elite from elegant audio video. I had good success with them. They are not authorized, but they have their own 2 year warranty. I would have to ship away for repair, so I may as well ship back to them. I believe some others have bought from them as well. They have Yammie & Denon also.

Also, Adcom sells refurbs on their own website.

Enjoy,

I'm looking for the Yamaha RX-V2700. I've been reading lots of reviews and about the time you start feeling good about a site you get to the people that take it from 5 stars to 4 stars and it makes you wonder why these guys can stay in business. Has anyone had any good luck with this receiver and who did you deal with?

Yamaha makes quality receivers IMO. Hypothetically speaking I would have no problem replacing my Denon 3806 with the equivalent Yamaha receiver.
