I had a pair of the SDA and had them bi-amped with the Carver TF-35 and TF-45 and I did like them. For them days I think they where a decent speakers. Did you ever own a pair?

No, I did not own that pair - I understand why a lot of people like Polk.

A dealer had a Polk Monitor 5jr for sale (trade in), that I gave a serious
audition. I wanted to buy and play with it - the cabinet, bass radiator,
replace the old cap and resistor with a new one - and maybe bring the
treble down 1 db - however, they were asking $200. I left it there.

I did listen to the SRT speakers at a dealer - they are nice - however,
I felt they were not all that musical for the price, and were better for
movies. They are an interesting system.

Older Polks that were designed by teh same dude as the Golden Ears were decent speakers and the name was respected back then. What's sad is Energy is suffering the same fate as Polk by being swallowed up by a "garbage" company.

Polk has a nice place in history - The games that are going on now
is somewhat sad. I like that old Monitor Jr better, than the current
Monitors and TSi stuff.

The Monitor JR, was giving some modern bookshelf speakers a fit.
They had a big sound, and the music did not hang around the box.
