With the nearing completion of my system I have been doing alot of thinking and asking opinions on this topic. I like Santana SuperNatural Live but U2 Rattle and Hum and the Eagles Live seems to get alot of thumbs up, any other thoughts?

I just picked up Dream Theater - Live at the Budokan recently. It's a good listen. I also enjoy my Coldplay Live dvd. I've only briefly heard that Santana Supernatural dvd, but I liked what I heard at the time.

Every time I'm at the local Best Buy or Circuit City, I always browse through the music DVD's to see if anything good has come out. It seems that the only stuff I find is that Britney Speared or Godsmack has a new DVD out, but nothing I actually listen to. I'd love to see a Chevelle or Incubus live dvd hit the shelves.

I fella I talked to today suggested U2 Live at Slane Castle is supoose to be awesome and also Sting has good audio. I have an e-bay bid on the US Slane CD for $12 I will give you my take once I get it..your right about the Britney crap..bring on the quality artists.

Live concerts on a good HT system are a great way to spend an evening with friends...throw in a few adult beverages and common appreciation of the artist and you are all set. Four of my favorites are:

Eric Clapton - One More Car, One More Rider.

U2 - go Home live in Ireland. I haven't seen Rattle and Hum but if you like U2 you should like this one

Sting - All This Time. Performed on 9/11....a very good (if understated as warranted by the events of the day) show performed at his home in Tuscany Italy. backed by some very good musicians/singers

The Dave Matthews Band - The Central Park Concert

I'd second(or is it third?) this one. Dave is great live...

I've got quite a few Music/Concert DVD's. I look for them more than I do movies...

To add to the list...

1. James Taylor; Both "Pull Over" and "Live at the Beacon Theater". The audio quality is unmatched in my opinion. Really good stuff...
2. Eagles; "Hell Freezes Over"
3. NIN Live; "And all That Could Have Been". Outstanding!!
4. Metallica; Both "Cunning Stunts" and "S&M" are very, very good.
5. Roger Waters; "In the Flesh" Very, very, very good.
6. Dave Matthews... As stated above.
7. Don Henley; "Inside Job" in DTS.

I've got many others but I think those are the highlights. ;)

Actually I heard that..when I first saw it at Futureshop I started laughing thinking who would buy that the more people I told the stupider I looked. I think I will have to put that on the list. Man I got too many live concerts to watch I wont get to any movies..ohh well I like concerts better..next best thing to being there is on a 106" screen :)

U2 Elevation tour. It has a very loud sound track and a nice video transfer. But it's not widescreen. :( I attended a concert during the tour so it brings back fond memories. I really like the tribute to Joey Ramone.

I got the EC disc and it was abit slow but ok. The blues concert he did in SF i think that was on PBS blows one more out of the water. Its clapton at his best with the best band i've seen him with. Thats Blues.

Getting back to Dave Matthews, I have 3 of his dvd's with the central park being the best, but his first one called listener supported is also very good. I am not a real big fan of boulder colorado for some reason. Eagles DVD is also great as you all know. I am thinking about getting the blue man group dvd as well.
