$10K+ is, in my opinion, more than a good setup really needs. There are some top shelf offerrings in the $5K - $8K range that will serve up all but the most demanding applications nearly flawlessly.
The JVC listed above is one of the best bets out there and is getting review after review after review that really puts it out ahead of the pack. But, all the front projectors these days are giving very good reults with the sub $5K models delivering higher quality than the $20K projectors of about five years ago.
If you are doing a full installation, then there are many factors that could really affect how the installation would go, but I would save some cash on the projector and instead ensure a decent screen, a better installation, maybe a hush box, or upgrade the subwoofer or add acoustical treatments to the room.
I always struggle when my clients tell me stories where some sales guy is pushing a $20K Runco display on them when there are so many other choices which have as much quality for far less.
To really make any recommendation though I would want to know the full setup of your room and what you seating, size, etc. expectations are.
